A Good Match: Passeig de Gracia

Bright and beautiful, Casa Batlló sits on one of Barcelona’s most beautiful street, Passeig de Gràcia. And while these particular Gaudi masterpeice was my favorite building in Barcelona, few know about it’s neighbor, Casa Amatller.

Sitting in contrast next to vibrant and magical dragon castle, is the blockly and beige Casa Amatller. With a pyramid of squares topping beige painted plaster contrasting the broken sea foam mosaic plaster, and a rainbow fish scale rooftop next door, Casa Amatller serves as the perfect contrast and match to Casa Batlló on Passeig de Gràcia.

In a city of detailed and modern architecture around every turn, it was spectacular to see how each type of architecture complemented each other in Barcelona.

You’re absolutely right. Somehow Barcelona and Gaudi make a perfect match.

  2. Somehow all those disparate elements of Casa Battlo are also a perfect match, blending together to make one eye-popping house.
